Fried Onion Rings

INGREDIENTS
1 large white onion
1 1/4 cups of plain flour

1 egg
1/4 pint of milk
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tsp of turmeric
Oil for deep-frying
Rock salt

METHOD
In the medium deep pan heat the oil until it’s smoking hot. Peel and slice the onion into thick slices separate the outer rings; discard the smaller inner parts and place in a bowl. Cover the onion rings with 1/4 cup of flour. In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients and whisk together into a smooth batter. Dip, each of the onion, rings in the batter and drop into the oil. Turn after a minute; cook until they are crispy and golden. Once cooked, place on some kitchen towel to soak up excess oil. Repeat the process with the remainder of the onion, sprinkle over some rock salt and serve.GMS_THE_MENU_RETURN
