“Good quality meat is hard to find in Dubai and this butcher sells cuts of meat to rival most specialist stores – and it’s great value. The meat is locally sourced and chopped up on top of a big tree stump in the middle of the shop floor, which is the size of my living room. The manager Zebham always greets me warmly and translates when the old owner ‘Papu’ says hello in Urdu. I then stand next to the hanging meat and point out the cuts I want, before Zebham gets to work. I’m all for supporting a small local business and this is a real find – well worth the trip down Sheikh Zayed Road.”
